Deposits (prepayments) can be made to a vendor in advance of receiving the invoice. Such payments may be desirable in situations where a vendor requires prepayment for a custom item or tooling. The vendor may also provide a favorable discount if paid in advance, or the vendor may not be willing to extend open credit terms.
