Cancel or Reverse a Customer Refund

Once a Customer Refund has been initiated and "Saved", it will appear in Bank Withdrawal for printing of a check (or EFT). You may desire for the refund to not be issued, which could be under two different scenarios. One being the Bank Withdrawal has already been posted, in which case you need to REVERSE the refund. The other being the Bank Withdrawal has not been posted, in which cases you need to DELETE refund.

1) Insure Bank Withdrawal screen is closed.

2) Access Transactions - Accounts Receivable - Customer Refunds.

3) Select File - Open. Input a the wildcard character "%" and press ENTER.

4) From the lists of results, identify and select the refund in question.

5a) If the refund had NOT been posted in Bank Withdrawal, the refund's status will be shown as "Open". To cancel this refund, first uncheck any entries in the detail grid, and then select Edit - Delete.

5b) If the refund has has ALREADY been posted in Bank Withdrawal, the refund's status will be shown as "Paid". To reverse this refund, select Actions - Reverse This Payment. (do not edit any of the check boxes in the detail grid)
