Apply Customer Credit

Customer Credits and Overpayments can be applied to Sales Invoices without having to await the receipt of a check from the customer. Applying these credit balances is performed via the regular Customer Payment interface.

  • Begin a Customer Payment for the desired customer.
  • For Type, select "Credit Application" from the dropdown list.
  • In the Available Credit field, click the ellipsis to open the windows displaying available credits.
  • Select the checkbox for one or more credit you would like to apply. You may also edit the amount of a credit to a lower value if you need to only use part of the credit.
  • In the main grid, select the invoices you desire to apply the credit amount toward.
  • Once the "Balance To Apply" value shown in the vertical grid is $0, you may complete the posting. This is doen by selecting Actions -> Post This Payment.
