Disable Server Display Lock

By default the screen lock will occur on Windows Server after a preset inactivity period. Unlike Windows 7 or 10, you cannot control the timeout period or disable the timeout via the Display or Control Panel setting. For Server OS, this is controlled via the Group Policy.

1) Type "GPEdit.msc" (without parens) from the run command.

2) Navigate the menu tree to Computer Configuration \ Policies \ Administrative Templates \ System \ Power Management \ Video and Display Settings.

3) In the right panel, select the setting for Turn Off Display (Plugged in).

To disable the lock, enable this setting and change the value of Turn Off the Display (Seconds) to 0, as shown below. Remember to click the "Apply" button before closing the screen.
